As the class comes to an end I had fun as well as experienced challenges. I enjoyed the experience of gaining knowledge in the field of film making. My favorite project was the interview an expert because I loved getting to know other people and their stories were so interesting. I learned how to ask questions and he had a lot to say. Also I liked the I am Imovie because it got a chance for me to learn about others and connect with those people outside the classroom. My least favorite project was the 6 word story. I had trouble getting the shots and it took a long time trying to find people who could film for me. I would try to manage my time better in this class if I retook the class. I am interested in taking Broadcast tech 2 but it wouldn't fit into my schedule, and I am a senior this year so I will be graduating. However since this is my passion that I want to pursue in college I will take the skills I learned in this class and apply it to my future.

For this project I learned a lot of skills. I learned the rule of thirds and where to position the person on camera. I learned how to position the mic. Although difficult I even learned how to do the different types of shots/B-roll on the phone. I got a taste of how much collaboration goes into the process. It was interesting learning about Dr Weltig's life and I really enjoyed the project. If I had the chance I would do it again.
For my interview I chose Dr Weltig. It was a really amazing experience I learned a lot about him I didn't know before. Through the process of interviewing I learned the proper way to ask questions, how to position the chair, how to edit soundbites, what interview shots look like using the rule of thirds and much more I had some knowledge already going into the interview project so that helped a little. It was a great way to get to know others and what their daily life is like if I had the chance I would want to do this project again.
My six word story is based on life lessons I learned at home from my parents. Every day my mom is telling me to do more things by myself. I tried to incorporate that into something powerful people could watch. The hardest part of the project was trying to find chances to film because I couldn't get anyone to help me and I didn't have time to go outside the house Also the words I used Independence hard work leads to success is part of my Chinese cultural belief Although it was a long process I finally put together something that I am proud of My first shot was a low angle shot. My second was a close up My third was a contract dolly with me walking towards the camera After that I had a follow shot with me walking down the hall in addition I added a medium shot of me reading and ended up with a shot of me singing which was an extreme wide

http://creativethinking.net/describe-your-life-in-six-words/#sthash.wN0PjXMd.dpbs For my research on Ernest Hemingway I learned that his story was part of a bet among writers that people say he won but at this point it cannot be proven true . There were also different interpretations of the meaning of his story. For example one person said that a husband lost his wife and baby and the shoes that were left behind were never worn by the baby. With cameras I learned how to change the white balance. Final Cut pro was new territory for me so I learned basically everything from shortcuts to changing the color. The shortcuts were a lot to learn in a short time so I had trouble remembering it all but with repetition it got better. I learned how to use an SD card to import footage versus dragging from the desktop. Also I learned how to set up cameras on tripods ands to use only 10 seconds of a clip versus the whole clip.
In the last days in the TV Studio, I learned some of the jobs I enjoyed were director, floor director and talent. As a news anchor I learned how to slow my speech, because I have a tendency to talk very fast. Also I learned proper hand placement. I have always dreamed of being on camera and, I enjoyed the opportunity to finally get the chance. As director it brought me out of my comfort zone, by giving me the chance to speak loudly, which is not something I do often because I am shy. I also liked taking control of the show. As floor director I learned that it is best not to say everything out loud, as it can create a distraction. In addition it gave me a chance to test my listening skills.
In the TV studio I learned fascinating things. I learned about the different roles of a production staff. I also had the opportunity to operate the sound board. It was a pretty simple task but I had to face the challenge to time the moment I pushed specific buttons to the time the director told me to push certain buttons. I could definitely pay more attention in class.
The first video I made was my I Am Imovie trailer. This was about my life and the struggles I have overcome starting from near death to working to transform me into the person I am today. Since this was my first time creating a trailer I learned about the process of putting a whole trailer together. One of the most difficult things I faced was getting the pictures since most of them I took at my house and I have limited items that describe me. One thing I would do differently is include more pictures of myself. I lliked the fact that we can learn about people through different types of creative media.
